Sunderland added further depth to their attacking options following the close of the transfer window, with the signature of free agent Victor Anichebe.

The signing of Anichebe marks a reunion between the player and Sunderland boss David Moyes, after the pair worked together at Everton for seven season between 2006 and 2013.

Anichebe was born in Nigeria, but moved to the UK as a chid, and rose through the youth ranks at Goodison Park before going on to make more 130 appearances for the Toffees.

The departure of Moyes to Manchester United coincided with a move to West Bromwich Albion for Anichebe, and he remained with the West Midlands club for three seasons before parting ways in the summer.
