Ivory Coast international Lamine Kone made an instant impact at the Stadium of Light when his move to the club was finally rubber-stamped in January, scoring two crucial goals on the road to survival and steadying the ship at the back.

His goal-scoring brace came in the 3-0 victory over Everton that sealed Sunderland’s status as a Premier League club, and he was also on target in the pre-season draw with Borussia Dortmund.

Kone made more than 120 appearance for Lorient in Ligue 1 and has been capped six times for adopted nation, Ivory Coast.
